Bread House Week 49

Week 49: Early Monday morning, we had three individuals arrive at the Bread House around 8:45. We open at nine. They were hoping to get some food and get back home before going to work. Of course, we helped them out, and they took off on their bikes to get the food put away before going to work. When you work at the Bread House, you really get a chance to see how some people are still struggling. Not only that, you get to know these folks and see them around town, and they are always glad to smile at you and thank you for helping them.

Another story we had is about a young lady who came to the Bread House with a name tag. Sandra asked her if she was on her way to work, and she said no, she was on her way to a bible study here at SUMC. She was part of the Women’s Bible study. How awesome is it that! SUMC can help fill these individuals spiritually as well as filling them with food!

• Dried beans and rice
• Canned vegetables (corn, green beans, mixed), beans, soups (tomato, chicken noodle, and mushroom), tuna and chicken
• Fruit cups and single-serving chips and snacks
• Mac and cheese
• Cereal, oatmeal, and grits
• Paper Towel and Toilet Paper
