Bread House Week 50
(Picture above) We have two new volunteers at the Bread House! Meet Gloria and Laura! Vi, Barb, and Judy are pros and will train Gloria and Laura well!
Week 50: This week we had a young mother who came with a toddler to the Bread house. She told her story of raising three kids on her own and having a very rough time. She told us that someone had stolen her identity, so she has been unable to receive her tax refund, which she needs. She was counting on that money to pay her utilities. To make matters worse, she could not get her stimulus check because of her stolen identity, and she was told it would take up to 9-months to receive her payment. She is so grateful that the Bread house is here; otherwise, she would not be able to feed her kids as she puts it.
On an upbeat note, we had someone again from Shalimar drive in and ask if this was the place to drop off food for the needy. It has been a community effort keeping the Bread House Open and stocked! Thanks for all you do!
If you have not stopped by the Bread House, please come by any Mon, Wed, or Fri between
9-12. We would love to show you around!
