Message from Pastor Matt
Baptism: one of the sacraments of the United Methodist Church, the way in which Jesus
began his ministry, and our initiation into the Church. Many of you may have been baptized as
an infant while others might have been baptized at confirmation, and still, some are baptized as
adults, and we celebrate each of them with you. Some of you have never been baptized before
and we are excited about this part of your faith journey!
We have a very unique opportunity here on the Emerald Coast to baptize new believers or reaffirm other’s baptism in the Gulf. What an exciting and meaningful way to mark your faith journey! I want to invite anyone who has been thinking about baptism to join us on Sunday June 26, at 5:00 at Beasley Park. We will have food and drinks provided under the pavilion, and we will also celebrate the baptisms together before heading down to the water.
Not only do we want those who will be baptized to attend, but we also want our entire church family to come and be a part of this important day. This marks the beginning of a faithful journey where people will be surrounded by others to walk with them and alongside them. Come and show your support and encourage those who will be baptized into the faith! It will be a wonderful time together as a church family.
If you have any questions or want to sign up to be a part of this day please reach out to me or the church office so that we can make this a wonderful event. You can also register here. I hope to see you there and look forward to what God will do this summer at Shalimar United Methodist Church!
Complete in Him,
Matt
