Back to School Drive-By

Heartfelt thanks to our generous church family for making last Sunday’s Back to School event possible. The Back-to-School Bash is one of the ways our SUMC Mission team reaches out to our community. Thirty-three enthusiastic, faith-filled volunteers welcomed the families to our campus and ensured the love of God went out to 126 children and youth through the sharing of backpacks and grade-appropriate school supply kits. The families who visited with us were able to share a prayer with our pastors and Stephen Ministers. In addition, they took home books and Bibles provided by our church library and your donations. The families also received dental kits, visited the Children’s Ministry craft table, and enjoyed treats at the ice cream truck. The remaining backpacks and supply kits will continue to help children and youth in need through Meigs Middle School and Longwood Elementary and our ongoing church missions, Bread House and Blessings for Children.

Our SUMC Mission team is blessed to offer so many opportunities to “love one another!” Thank you for your help and support with this event. We welcome and appreciate your participation in all our events! The Mission Team meets every 3rd Tuesday at 6pm in the Cross Corner Fellowship Hall. Please consider joining us!
